December is over! The first two weeks always seem to go by so slow. But the last few weeks, man do they fly by! Before I even knew it, it’s 2019! Man, I just got used to dating things 2018…
I definitely found some favorite things in December, and wanted to share them with you. Some are products, some are Christmas gifts, and some are lifelong loves. Let’s jump right into it!
1. Family Time
So this isn’t anything that you can physically hold… or is it? I love spending time with my family, especially around Holidays. It is so special to see the excitement of little hand and big eyes opening presents and spending all day with you. This year was slightly different because one of the littles was pretty sick, but I loved it either way.
2. On Guard
Oh my goodness, everyone and their mothers were sick! Geeze! Also, please do not come to church sick, or bring your kids to church sick. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves. STAY HOME! Rest. Recover. No matter how hard you try to keep those germs to yourself, they LIKE to spread! That’s literally their only purpose. God’s not gonna strike you dead.
Okay, rant over. Because I was exposed to all those germs, you best believe I was using all of my On Guard essential oil. But hey, I didn’t get sick!
3. Beautiful Blends
Okay so this one is an essential oil too, but I just love the blend! They have it in an all natural deodorant (that actually works), a hydrating body mist (that literally turns your skin to silk), and a roller that I use as a perfume. Because you go to some fancier stuff in December, (we went to the orchestra and the Christmas Eve service) I was using it constantly! It smells so light and beautiful and I love the way it just promotes confidence.
4. Slipper Socks
December in New York. It gets cold. The average was around 35F Degrees. That actually isn’t that bad, but you know what it? The dark! It get’s dark and cold and the two are not conducive in any way to my health. I get cold so easily already, and then when my body is exhausted, I get even colder. So, regular socks just don’t cut it for me in the winter. Time for the feet-shaped blankets to take over.
5. No Bake, GF Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies
So, I haven’t actually made these, but every holiday, a family member makes them. They are really really good. Like the type of good where you could probably eat 5 at a time if you weren’t paying attention! They are super nice to have at holidays, and even nicer that she makes them for us, but I will not be making them any time soon because they are just so yummy! Here is the recipe so you can feel my pain.
My substitutions – creamy peanut butterButter not margarine When I added the coconut (this year in some)- use one less 1 cup of oats and use 1 cup coconut instead.
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
- 3 cups quick cooking oats
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cocoa, milk and margarine. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, salt, peanut butter and oats.
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow cookies to cool for at least 1 hour. Store in an airtight container.
6. Lauren Conrad Scarf
This was a Christmas present from a very sweet friend. It was super thoughtful of her to get this for me, and I just love it! I have been wearing it almost every day since she gave it to me. Knit is my all time favorite texture, and it is the softest and warmest scarf that I now own.
I know the Lauren Conrad brand can be bought through Kohls, so go check that out if you want one for yourself!
So those are the things that I really enjoyed this December! Share some of your favorite things in the comments below to see if we like the same kind of things!
